AppleBerry coming soon!?

Globe and Mail has an interesting article speculating on the potential Apple-RIM partnership. The source of this rumor is the analyst Peter Misek (Canaccord Capital Inc.), who last year accurately predicted a partnership between RIM and Intel Corp. Interesting to add is that in a research note Misek said that senior Intel execs advised Apple to work with RIM.

The thinking is that both companies could complement each other - RIM has a strong presence in the wireless data sector, and Apple rules the consumer electronics market.

Speculations around the iPhone, combination of an iPod and the mobile phone, have been around for a while and it's quite likely that such device will enter the market in the near future. However, the platform of such device is still the topic of many speculations. As you may guess, I always wanted to see Apple embracing the Symbian OS platform, especially after its cooperation with Nokia around mobile web browser, Safari. Imagine that - the breathtaking design powered combined with your favorite Symbian applications. :)

At the end, guys from Engadget have a very reserved opinion on the subject. The argument is that both companies have tight control on their hardware and software. We'll see what will emerge from all this.
