Love your new Apple iPhone but hate the lack of Flash support? Well, in the name of love and peace, Apple will be introducing a Flash plug-in sometime soon. Walt Mosberg states, in his blog, All Things Digital, that Apple has the update planned for the next couple months.
At launch, the iPhone version of the Safari browser is missing some plug-ins needed for playing common types of Web videos. The most important of these is the plug-in for Adobe’s Flash technology. Apple says it plans to add that plug-in through an early software update, which I am guessing will occur within the next couple of months.
The addition of Flash support will really turn the iPhone into the web-surfing powerhouse that it was claimed to be. As of right now, the web-surfing experience is an incredible pleasure, tempered only by the lack of the embedded video support that Adobe’s Flash format allows. With a Flash plug-in, us iPhone owners will have access to all kinds of video and interfaces that are Flash-based - perhaps including games? Oh please, let Flash-based online games work on the iPhone. Pretty please, Apple?

Thank goodness! Now how about an SDK?

That would be nice. But with all the planet’s hackers trying to crack the iPhone, maybe releasing an SDK would just be like Apple opening the door.

They really need to do shockwave as well. Also, how will the tactile interface gestures (placing two fingers on the screen and sliding them apart) be coded for with adobe products? Seems to me adobe will eventually have to issue software updates to fully allow devlopers to develop for the iPhone.

Not sure if Adobe needs to update. I’ve seen a demo of using Nintendo Wii controllers for Flash. And they had two Wii Remotes. Each controlling a hand (right/left).
This seems to imply that the existing framework can already support multi “point” objects. And Flash already can easily handle gestures via mouse down, track mouse movement, mouse release.
So I don’t think it’s going to be a big deal requiring a major update from Adobe.
