Major iPhone update in works?
By Dusan Belic on Tuesday, July 10th, 2007 at 4:15 am PST In Apple, Devices, Mac OS, Rumors, iPhone
According to the post on Howard Forums, Apple will release a major update for the iPhone soon. Apparently the new firmware version will bring several improvements, including:
- File browser
- Disk mode support
- More REAL applications are coming, including the special version of iWork and iChat
- Search for files, aka mobile Spotlight
- Widescreen keyboard in every app, not just Safari
- Copy/Paste support
- You will be able to add mail accounts without iTunes
- File sharing
- Syncing with .Mac accounts
- Ringtones
- Camera software upgrade to include stabilization feature
- Support for Flash
Sounds promising, but what about Java support? C’mon Apple, we’re hungry for features, hurry up.

Dug doent know what hes talking about copy/paste support is essential, as well as being able to search for something on a web page CTRL-F style… GG QQ Dug as well as your imaginary friends at apple.
July 24th, 2007 at 11:32 am
Yeah I agree that Dug must not know what he’s talking about. Apple said even before the launch that they will be adding features for free through software updates as time goes on.

July 27th, 2007 at 7:24 am
It’s Adobe Flash! You know, the .SWF files and stuff. It nowhere says there will be “flash for the camera.”

Right…I’m going to trust (let alone try to make sense of) what someone wrote that doesn’t seem to understand the concept of when to capitalize, the use of punctuation or the impact of run-on gibberish (some people *might* call them sentences).
Not likely.

Can anyone please tell me if the iphone bt stack is even capable of being updated to provide stereo or is this not possible? Will there be a dock adapter available soon that would allow a2dp connections?
July 27th, 2007 at 3:42 pm
dug needs to learn English before making false statements, then maybe it would be somewhat believable.

Even though the phone IS a little pricey, I have one and do not regret buying one. I love the set up and edge is fast enough for what I use it for. Things freakin awesome. If they come out with updates, even better.

I really don’t see any big features added until leopard is released, because of their whole big hype with how well the iPhone will work and integrate with leopard. There may be some small things added up till then, but just nothing big. I do hope they unlock the stereo bluetooth ability as I’ve heard the chip is able to do that, because I’ve been eyeing those sweet Moto S9’s
