We’ve already seen the Apple iPhone broken down and its guts exposed, but never like this. This hardcore tear-down shows a real up-close and personal view of the iPhone’s CPU wafer. Nick Chernyy, from uBlog, was able to get all the way down to the actual chip wafer and take a picture.

“The chip contains both the ARM CPU and the RAM, three dies to be exact. The CPU had what looked to be a model number and the RAM chips had what looked to be part of a model number on the cut-away part of the die. No visible logos or slogans on these chips.”

Head on over to uBlog for all the intimate shots of the iPhone’s CPU and RAM chips.
