Since when did religious organizations start trying to get new members through promotions that are more fitting for premium services? Oh, church members are “encouraged” to “donate” money to the church? Well, then all this makes sense.

Apparently, there’s this church in Florida that is offering (”bribing,” as they say) a free $15 iTunes gift card to new members. And, each new church goer gets the chance to win a free Apple iPhone. Don’t worry, all those “donations” should more than cover those gift cards and that iPhone.

Just imagine how this church came to this “marketing” decision. “Hey guys, how can we increase revenue membership?” “Well, we could offer a free iPhone.” “Oh yea! And we could give each new member attendee a free iTunes gift card.” “Wouldn’t that cost a lot?” “No way, all that added revenue donation will more than cover our costs. Didn’t you goto business school seminary?”

Free iPhone? Praise the Lord! Literally.
