Wow, Apple sure is busy on the European front these days. There's been a lot (now that's an understatement) of talk about which of the major European wireless players will get their chance to hock the iPhone exclusivly. Now we're hearing that the Italian carrier TIM (Telecom Italia Mobile) may be getting courted by Apple's people to carry the iPhone in Italy.
Now, this is as speculative as rumors get, so don't get your spaghetti all in a knot just yet. It's not like TIM execs have even confirmed the negotiation process like European counterpart T-Mobile Germany has.

when will the cellular providers get the message. we the people could care less who our provider is all the public cares about is having the product available to them.
Recently the Italian Motorcycle company Ducati who competes in world FIM Super Bike, was at the Utah Super Bike Race last weekend. For the majority of their staff it was the first time that they had been to America. They went to every apple Store an bought our the entire stock of 2-3 local Apple stores, laptops, Desktops, Ipods, and "iPhones". They still did not get everything they wanted so they sent the local Ducati USA Reps. to go an buy up every thing they did not get.
So wether or not a Italian cellular provider is found, may not matter. It is not like they Apple can legally prohibit people from modifying their iPhones to use any cellular provider they choose. We have that right and that choice, and know own has the right to say or do otherwise.
