International Herald Tribune launches iPhone-optimized website

We’ve almost missed this. It’s not the native iPhone app, but an optimized version of the International Herald Tribune’s website. You may think the non-native stuff is kinda out these days, however it’s the major news publication we’re talking about here, hence it deserves some space.
Located at iphone.iht.com, the new website is optimized to work with Safari on iPhone and iPod Touch devices. Nearly all of the content from the regular IHT.com website can be found and they (IHT.com developers) even wanted to make the experience as much as possible iPhone-ish. Hence, instead of using regular HTML pages, the entire site is built using AJAX. The result is stunning — everything seems so quick and responsive…
In case you care to know more about the development process, IHT.com’s blog has more details about it.

Apple as an OEM is very small in front of Nokia, SE and Samsung but it has got its own strengths and is intimidating companies to make stuff for it - even without saying a word
